Open the day with a morning report
Start each day with a short, standard opening report: the routes for the day, who is in, and anything carried over from yesterday. A consistent opening makes it obvious when something is missing. In FLO the Morning Opening Report opens automatically when one is due and brings in the day's routes, and earlier reports stay available.
Build one timesheet, not three copies
Dispatch problems usually start with copies: one sheet on the dispatcher's laptop, another printed, a third in a group chat. Keep a single grid that pairs every route with its staging spot, route type, driver, van, phone, power bank and helper.
- Load the day's routes first so nothing is forgotten.
- Assign drivers, then vans, then devices, in that order.
- Add an extra row for added work or a rescue as soon as it comes up.
- Publish rows that have a driver so the team sees the same plan.
Answer drivers' questions before they ask
Which van? Which phone? Which staging spot? Every question asked at the door slows the launch. When the published plan is on each driver's phone, with their route, van, staging and equipment on the home screen, the line at dispatch gets shorter.
Record swaps as transfers
Vans break and phones die. When you move a van, phone or power bank to another driver, record it as a transfer on the published row instead of retyping columns. You keep an accurate picture of who has what, and the hand-off history is there when something goes missing.
Generate vehicle inspection paperwork from the same grid
If your process uses a printed DVIC (Daily Vehicle Inspection Checklist), create it from the row that already has the driver and van, rather than filling it in by hand. FLO fills in the DVIC form for a row's driver and van as a printable PDF after a short review.
Common questions
- What is a DSP morning launch?
- It is the window each morning when an Amazon Delivery Service Partner gets drivers matched to routes, vans and devices and out of the station. It runs best when assignments are made and published before drivers arrive.
- Can we change a van after the timesheet is published?
- Yes. In FLO, use the transfer option on a published row to move a vehicle, phone or power bank to another driver.
- Does FLO track vans live on the road?
- No. FLO does not connect to telematics. The timesheet reflects what your team assigns.
